My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
So often we think faith is based solely upon some kind of intellectual logic or reasoned understanding of the will, but here Paul says the surest foundation for faith is an experience of the Spirit’s power. Why? Well, a word of prophecy or a healing makes the reality of God clearer (and harder to argue against) than just preaching, don’t you think? How do you view the importance of experience within faith?
