For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10
Loving money (and what it can buy) makes us selfish; it causes us to focus on our own material comfort and gain rather than following Jesus’ way and looking after the needs of those in our community.
To assess your own attitude towards money think about your current monetary situation and answer these two questions: (1) how easy is it for you to give money away? and (2) how much do you give away?
