I've just finished reading Brother Andrew and Al Janssen's Light Force; the sequel to the wide-selling God's Smuggler. Light Force covers the periods of time in which the duo visit areas in the Middle East, around West Bank and Gaza in their mission to bring light and hope back into the suffering church which is bearing the brunt of raging conflicts and tension between differing cultures and nationalities.
As the men explore the traumas within the communities and individuals, I understood the urgency and impact of their suffering, conveyed by the language and writing style, as "jumpy" as the dates and locations could be throughout. Some may find the book hard-going and possibly not the easiest to extract information from, it has been said to have been written in an arkward manner, however I found it alright and was able to engage with the deep morals behind the story.
The book provided some helpful reminders including the fact that God wants to include all people in his family if they choose to follow him and he calls us to love them too. Also, through the trials people were experiencing I could see how important it was to trust God in the face of danger as well as an insight to pray for those around the world who are in peril; but it went further than that, the muslim populations semmed to outweigh the Christian ones, making it even more vital for these believers to hold on to their faith. I also saw how God will always provide hope, even in the most challenging situations. Overall, quite a good book.
