Sorry to interrupt… I was going to give a big ‘Shout Out’ to all those who had been to either Go Live or Go Mad last year – but then I thought, that’s so rude. I was always told that shouting out was just drawing attention to myself, and that’s not what anyone wants to see. So how about a polite ‘Hello, sorry to interrupt’ to all those who were there last October. Ah, the memories… but let’s look to the future and in particular to Friday 15th October at Lendrick Muir – close your eyes (metaphorically – you need to keep reading), picture the scene… and cue dream sequence type music...

With the Commonwealth Games coming to Glasgow in four years time the churches have formed a group to look at how it can play its part in the event. The aims of the group can be found at the bottom of this article but we are now looking for a logo to represent the group and its aims and we need YOUR help!
The Games will be an exciting event for the City and the Church and this is your chance to be involved at an early stage. We would like you to encourage your youth group to design a logo, with the best one being chosen to represent the Glasgow Churches 2014 steering group.

Ah, summer days...that amazing SU holiday...brilliant activities...time to hang with friends...being the first table called for seconds of sticky toffee pudding...nukem ball...begging the minibus driver not to put on Radio 4…no-one claiming ‘those’ pants from the lost property table...evening events...talent shows...the tearful goodbyes...

LM5b 10 was probably the best week of my life, amazing people, amazing fun and super awesome amazing GOD! I went to LM5b for the first time last year and was blown away by God’s amazing love. It left me wanting so much more. I was really looking forward to going again this year and if you’re a member of ignite you may have noticed me counting down the days until camp on my status updates!!!

Next Sunday, or on one of the Sundays in September, something strange might happen at church. The "S" word might creep in - not "S" for sin, but "S" for school - 'cos ministers, youth workers and others will be holding Back to School with God services.
The services will be focussing on the brilliant story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (or Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah if you prefer!) in Daniel chapter 3 which tells how they refused to bow down to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar and ended up in a furnace!

It's finally here guys and gals, so start getting excited (if you're not already) because in just 4 days it's the last ever FRENZY! It's gonna be big, it's gonna be loud, and it's gonna be a scorcher of a day (ok, we can't guarantee that one, but we can hope).
SU is going to be in the exhibition area like last year, so come over and say hi - better yet, bring your friends over too! If you're nice, we may even let you have a go on the bungee run ;-)

Strictly Come Praying 2010 (also known as SCP) is over for another year. It was an awesome two days (one in Inverness and one in Grangemouth). Taste (the worship band) were outstanding and really challenged us all as they led the worship and teaching. On the feedback forms lots of you said how much you had gained from being at the event. Below you can read what the P7-S6 young people attending the event thought about SCP 2010.

You are invited to come and be a Trainee Leader on an SU team in 2010! Basecamps in 2010 are part of COmMISSION, SU Scotland’s short-term mission programme. If you are in S5 or S6, or over 16 and have left school or are in College, this is your chance to take up the challenge of Jesus’ “great commission”:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

Here is your movie trivia quiz for the day: In which famous Scottish film were these immortal lines uttered? "I like to do something special on a Saturday night."
If you don't know the answer you'll have to come along to the Tron Basement on the 30th of January and find out. And while you are there you'll also get a chance to meet with a lot of other people (some of whom might even know the answer?) who are taking the chance to catch up with their mates from SU holidays and weekends away.
