You are invited to come and be a Trainee Leader on an SU team in 2010! Basecamps in 2010 are part of COmMISSION, SU Scotland’s short-term mission programme. If you are in S5 or S6, or over 16 and have left school or are in College, this is your chance to take up the challenge of Jesus’ “great commission”:

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

And while you are there you'll also get a chance to meet with a lot of other people (some of whom might even know the answer?) who are taking the chance to catch up with their mates from SU holidays and weekends away.

I love going to SU camps. I enjoy doing different activities; kayaking, crate climbing, winds surfing... I look forward to midnight feasts snuck secretly into dorms (As a new trainee leader it is my duty to tell you that food is BANNED from most dorms at camp!) and I like trying to sneak away from leaders when it's my group's turn on washing up. But what if I were to suggest to you a camp without any physical activities? A camp where midnight feasts were not only frowned upon but were lectured about? A camp where those on duty were expected to clean dirty dishes without complaining and instead ENJOYING themselves serving others?!
