1. Description of Service
suignite.org.uk is run by Scripture Union Scotland. Scripture Union Scotland is registered in Scotland as a charity (no SC035168) and as a company limited by guarantee (no. SC54297).
suignite.org.uk is a social networking site for teenagers of secondary school age. Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment where teenagers can socialise online. For this reason membership can only be gained through participation within event/s linked with the offline work of Scripture Union Scotland.
2. Acceptance of Terms
This agreement sets out the legally binding terms and conditions of your use of suignite.org.uk website and your membership to ignite. These terms and conditions are designed to protect ignite members and create a safe and fun environment at suignite.org.uk. By using suignite.org.uk you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.
3. Your Account
3.1. Registration
Membership is only offered to secondary school aged teenagers who are linked with the services of Scripture Union Scotland. In order to verify your identity, online registration uses a unique Activation keycode that has been generated by Scripture Union Scotland. Scripture Union Scotland reserves the right (but not the obligation) to invite you to become a member of suignite.org.uk when you physically attend a Scripture Union Scotland event.
If you book and attend one of Scripture Union Scotland’s residential holidays or weekends away, an Activation keycode will be automatically generated for you. If you are attending one of SU Scotland’s non-residential events you will need to fill in an Identity Verification form. This can be obtained through an Event leader and must be signed by an authorised SU staff member or volunteer. You do not pay for this service. You are also under no obligation to use suignite.org.uk and its services.
To register visit www.suignite.org.uk/index.php/register and enter your unique Activation keycode along with the other requested information. If this code matches our records you will be invited to continue the registration process. Without a valid keycode you will not be allowed to register on ignite. Each key code is unique and can only be used once. This keycode expires one month after it has been communicated to you. If you do not want to be a member of ignite, either (a) inform support(at)suignite(dot)org(dot)uk; or (b) once you receive your automatically produced key code, shred it and allow it to expire.
If you do not want to be automatically offered membership of ignite and are attending a Scripture Union Scotland Holiday or Weekend Away, you may email support(at)suignite(dot)org(dot)uk and we will not produce an activation keycode for you.
Scripture Union Scotland pre-registers suignite.org.uk members by generating unique Activation keycodes to make certain that all users are who they say they are. Your name and date of birth will be read-only fields within your contact information. This is to prevent users altering their identity. If there is a mistake within these read-only fields please inform support-at-suignite-dot-org-uk.
Membership is personal to you. You must not allow any other person access to the site using your account or allow anyone else to register using your Activation keycode. This is necessary to preserve the safety and security of the site.
3.2. Login Details
You must take all necessary steps to make sure that your password remains confidential. Please take extra precautions when accessing your account through a shared computer and we advise against using a browser’s password manager to remember your login details.
